Vehicular Gate Operators provide convenience and security to their users. However, because these machines can produce high levels of force, it is important that all gate operating system designers, installers, and end users be aware of the potential hazards associated with improperly designed, installed, or maintained systems. Keep in mind that the gate operator is a component of the total gate operating system. Each component must work in unison to provide the end user with convenience, security and safety.

	FAAC International - providing hydraulic swing and barrier operators, electrical-mechanical slide gate operators and related activating and safety equipment.
	Sentex Systems - providing telephone entry systems from a basic single residence system to a linked, centralized programming with integrated activity record system.
	American Access Systems - providing digital card entry systems, telephone entry and intercom systems.
	OSCO Operator Specialty Co. - providing electrical-mechanical barrier, slide and swing gate operators and related activating and safety devices.
	Stanley Gate Operators - available in standard voltages and include complete installation instructions. Most operators come with a solenoid activated brake and adjustable open and close limits. Operators (except the 530) are full systems compatible (will accommodate intercoms, card readers, etc.)
	Barrier Gate Operators
	Cartell Probes - detects cars entering driveway.
	Timer - the most common Operator Accessory Systems are timer modules, radio receivers and transmitters, master/slave systems and magnetic vehicle detectors. Timer modules are installed in slide and swing or barrier gate operators to cause the operator to close the gate automatically a pre-set time after opening. IMPORTANT: a timer to close a gate must never be installed without adequate safety equipment (loop detectors, gate edge sensors, etc.).
	Securitron Magnetic Locks - for securing high security areas.
	Reversing Edges - reverses gate if gate hits something on closing.
	Radio Controls - radio receivers are installed in slide and swing or barrier gate operators to allow the opening and/or closing of a gate using a pushbutton transmitter from an automobile, etc. Radio receivers and transmitters are selected based on compatibility with the operator and the desired transmitter features.

	Magnetic Vehicle Detectors - serve two basic functions. A detector can be used to allow the free exit of a vehicle from a secured area or to prevent a gate from closing when a vehicle is in the gate area. Timers to close are recommended with detectors. When ordering, the desired function of each detector must be specified. Select a detector based upon compatibility with the operator and whether one or two loops are to be used.
